This shrine’s official name is Yanahime-Jinja.
But it is familiar as Mitsuke-Tenjin, because it is in the town of Mitsuke.
This shrine enshrines Yanahime-no-Mikoto is the Kami(deity) of safe delivery.
And it enshrines Sugawara-no-Michizane is the Kami of study.
Mitsuke-Tenjin is a famous Shinto shrine in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It’s well known for Hadaka-Matsuri(festival) and the folklore of a holy dog named Shippei-Taro.
